It's true....walking is probably the best exercise you can do! And think about it....it is what we do. We don't swim, or fly, or slither.....we walk. When you walk...one very important thing.....walk with you feet....not your head. If you watch people walk by you will see them leading with their heads....their bodies are just and add on to be dragged along with the head! If we lead with the head we get neck and back problems....as the body is unbalanced and constantly trying to keep this great big head from falling. So...make sure you wear good, supportive, flat shoes. Heels unbalance the spine resulting in it twisting and trying to constantly rebalance itself. Now if you are suffering from depression, and musculo-skeletal problems, re-establishing proper anatomical function is way up there on the essentials list. And think about it....if you are constantly tipping yourself out of balance as a result of even the smallest heels....then you are throwing your whole balance out. So walk....flat shoes....arms relaxed and moving gently, following the movement of your body...letting the blood flow. Keep your vision and your eyes unfocused and soft. Imagine your eyes are in your knees! And stop thinking.....gaze around you as you walk and BREATHE.
